Anne Rooney, author

Anne Rooney writes fiction for children from 5-11 and for reluctant-reader teenagers, and non-fiction for all ages including adults. She has published more than 150 books, working with a large number of publishers over a fairly large number of years. Her fiction includes the series Vampire Dawn (seven titles) for teenagers, All About Henry (four titles) and Awful Archie (four titles), both for 5-6 year olds, and a number of stand-alone titles and retellings.
She most enjoys writing spooky gothic stories, but can write non-scary for the shorter children.

She writes non-fiction on many subjects, but specialises in science, history and ethical issues. Her best-selling title is 1001 Horrible Facts (Arcturus), which has sold more than 250,000 copies worldwide.
Most recently, she has been writing about dinosaurs, vehicles, medicine and philosophy – not all in the same book!
