Patricia Elliott writes historical thrillers and fantasy for children and young adults. Since winning the Kathleen Fidler First Novel Award, she has been shortlisted for many others, including the Branford Boase, the Guardian Children's Book Prize, Calderdale and Wirral.
Her latest novels are The Devil in the Corner, a Victorian Gothic for YA, and two mysteries for younger readers, featuring girl detective, Connie Carew, and set in the Edwardian era: The House of Eyes and The Ship of Spectres.
Patricia has worked in publishing in the UK and children's bookselling in New York. She has an MA in Writing for Children, taught at London's Morley College for several years, and now gives popular writing workshops at schools, libraries and festivals, mostly in London and the South East. She is married, with two sons, and lives in Suffolk.
