Ailsa Burrows

As a little girl I was given stacks of books and heaps of encouragement to be creative. I knew it then: when I grow up, I want to draw.

I did Fine Art at the University of Leeds and graduated with first class honours. Then I worked at a design agency and after that two art galleries, and when I wasn't working I kept drawing.

Now I've graduated with a distinction in MA Children's Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art and I've learned more than I would've thought possible.

Picturebooks introduced me to art, stories and the big wide world. I love to create stories that stay with people, stories that make people feel the way I felt when I was little - loved and inspired.
