Jo Loring-Fisher

As a child I would spend hours drawing and writing, it was my favourite thing to do! I am lucky to have a creative and supportive family, and was encouraged  to draw from an early age. I grew up in Sussex, close to where Winnie-the-pooh was written and felt the magic of that forest. I have always been inspired by the natural world, but now that I live in Bath, I am discovering that the city landscape is as fascinating to me as the countryside.

I am passionate about art and children’s books, so it is wonderful to be able to spend my time combining the two. As a mum of four, I have spent many an hour sharing my love of books with my children and have witnessed the impact this has had on them.

I have a BA in Illustration from Norwich School of Art and hold an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art.

Maisie’s Scrapbook (Lantana Publishing, 2019) was the first published book that I illustrated. In September 2020 Lantana published Taking Time and this will be followed in January 2021, by Wolf Girl (Frances Lincoln Publishing) and Just Like You (Otter-Barry Books). My work is comprised of drawing, printmaking, painting and collage, finished digitally.
